Bad mood sometimes comes without warning and clings to you like a tick. As a woman, I know this very well. I can change a million moods during the day. Good mood, bad mood, I don’t know what mood can surprise me all in one day. How to get rid of a bad mood? That is a million pounds question.
I know a few great ways how to get rid of a bad mood and bring a good mood to life. Keep reading and get infected by it.
Do you know the day when you just don’t have your day?
The moment you open your eyes, you can’t do anything. You will ruin your new top, in which you were going to be the star of the day, with coffee or you don’t even have milk for coffee without which you can’t imagine your morning, you forget your house keys at home or you start to argue with anyone. I could go on indefinitely, but I think it would be better to find a way to fight the whole thing because just like a good mood, a bad mood is contagious. And you don’t want others to suffer in your mood or …?
I also sometimes have days when I feel like I want to put on my one of my favorite huge antisexual hoodies, baking a big pizza with lots of cheese, get Nutella and serving it straight to bed for my favorite movie and surviving like this until I wake up in a good mood again.
I think that these kinds of days also belong to life, they serve to balance life. It is important that you know how to deal with these days and how to behave during them. It’s also important to know when it’s time to stop feel self-pity.
How to get rid of a bad mood?
Let your emotions run wild
This is my first way and has been very proven for years by me. You can’t have a bad mood and expect it to get lost, because you can risk an explosion and that is much worst.
Sometimes its good to let the emotions flow and let them control your day. If you need to stay in the bed do it, if you need to cry then cry. Whatever works for you it’s better than falsely evoke a good mood and toxic positivism. I got over it and you should do as well because its nonsense that does not belong in my life and it should not belong to yours.
I wrote more about toxic positivism in article here.
Often, a bad mood is just a symptom of something else, something that has been bothering you for a long time. Let it speak to you for a moment in the way it is natural for it. Let bad mood control you for a moment. Maybe thanks to that you will realize something that you missed until then or you ignored it.
So if I’m in a bad mood or I’m sad then I simply accept it, that is, only to the point where it is socially acceptable for me and my surroundings.
A little tip from me. If you decide on this option, I recommend you cancel all activities that you have planned.
Write about your mood
As I mentioned, a bad mood sometimes comes to you out of nowhere, completely unexpectedly, and you don’t know how to get rid of it, because often you don’t even know why you’re in a bad mood. In that case, the key to overcoming a bad mood is understanding why the bad mood actually found you.
The best solution for me is writing. I’ve been writing a diary since I can write. When I moved abroad my diary became my best friend. I have all my good moods or even bad moods, and memories. Thanks to a diary and writing, I often managed to find out why I am in a bad mood and how to get rid of it.
And that’s why I recommend the same to you. Find some peaceful place wherever you feel good and you immerse yourself in your thoughts. Write, write and write until you feel better until you figure out the cause of your bad mood.
Listen to any music you want and how loud you want
If I don’t have much time and I want to get rid of bad mood music is one of my guaranteed tricks.
Have a small private concert, for example, during cooking or cleaning. When I’m in a bad mood and I decide to clean up spontaneously, I play music and sing loud and sometimes even with the window open. If it’s late in the evening, I try to adapt, but I always find a way. One of them is headphones.
I recommend you to do the same. Are you looking for some good cheer up music? Click here and let your rock star get out and shine.
Go for walk
A long walk in the fresh air can be another great therapy for a bad mood. You can clear your head and sort out your thoughts. Maybe you can figure out the cause of your bad mood. Researchers have shown that walking in nature is as effective as antidepressants and therapies. You will gain new energy and a positive good mood. You can also try exercising or running in the fresh air, but I’m not a sports lover so I don’t do it.
Go see people who you know that makes your day better and let your good mood come to you
The people around us play an important role in our lives, whether we want to admit it or not. They can often affect us and change our mood more than we can imagine.
Often and many of them affect us exactly the opposite as we would like. If you want to know more, I wrote about it in an article here.
But now I want to talk about those people who positively influenced us, with whom we feel good.
In the case of a bad mood, one of the best remedies is to surround yourself with your favourite people. It’s best to surround yourself with people where you can be yourself, you can say anything without thinking, and you know they won’t judge you. They are your people. I am sure you know someone with who you have that feeling. Take a minute and think about it. Can you see they face? Be grateful for them and you will see that your bad mood will gradually begin to subside. Meet them and your bad mood will disappear completely.
And finally, one of the most important things, when you are in a bad mood, is to realize that you are the only one who has the power and strength to turn your bad mood into a good mood. After all, it is said that it is just a bad day, not a lifetime.
